Never stop starting

Getting started is one thing. Practicing is another. Persisting is key.

“You can always edit a bad page. You can't edit a blank page.” ― Jodi Picoult

Who can possibly say that they got it right the first time? Seriously, apart from a great deal of luck, success doesn’t happen by chance. People don’t happen to run 100 meters under 9.58 seconds just like that. It takes time, it takes focus, it takes discipline, it takes resilience and it takes courage. And what we often don’t talk about is that with courage, comes failure and some people are terrified of Failure. There is even a word for fear of failure: atychiphobia. This happens when we allow that fear to stop us doing the things that can move us forward to achieve our goals. The majority of people are scared of failure. Why? Because they associate it with shame, they get embarrassed, when frankly failure is the result of having a go; having the courage to make a move in the first place.

I heard someone say once that in an ideal world, “FAIL” could be an acronym for “First Attempt in Learning”. Let’s not forget that it took Edison 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb and guess what; he succeeded in the end..

Success doesn’t come easy. Keep going, keep trying; believe in yourself, believe in your company, and believe in your dreams. Get rid of the limited beliefs that are holding you back. Remember that there are those who dream it, and those who do it. Be the latter one.
